Dr. Kristen Page (chiropractor)
BChiroSc. MChiroprac
Hi there!
I’m Kristen. I’m a Macquarie University (Sydney) graduate from 2012. For those who don’t know, chiropractors in Australia have to complete 5 years of study, broken up into 3 years Bachelor of Chiropractic Science, and 2 years Master of Chiropractic. KP Chiropractic is in its 3rd year of operation now, based in Mount Coolum at the Mount Coolum Medical Centre. Yes, you heard correctly, I work alongside 4 other GPs, a psychologist, and soon to be a dentist! I started this venture out of a little frustration over the restrictions that come along with working for other Chiropractors in their clinics. Not being able to practice the way I wanted to and give people an up to date and fully holistic approach to pain and injury management.
I have an approach that is patient centred as opposed to practitioner centred, which means I draw on a multitude of techniques and modalities that suit each individual. I strive to make this an overall empowering process, and encourage a team effort between myself, you, your GP and any other health care provider that may need to be involved including physiotherapists, podiatrists, exercise physiologists, massage therapists, sports trainers etc.... Plus, I like to take the time to get to know you, which helps me understand what is really going on.
I have a special interest in managing chronic pain. I like to delve into understanding the neurology and mechanics behind why injuries occur and try to relay this and educate my patients on what is going on in their body. This helps to reduce the fear of unknown, which goes a long way in helping you through difficult periods of pain and disability. I’m also a bit of a research nerd – as research gives us clinical certainty, therefore i'm dedicated to keeping up to date with the latest scientific and medical knowledge.
Outside of work I am a Yogi, an adventurer and a music lover.
